Shipping & Duties
Shipping from Japan, clearly explained.
Learn how DiamondBaseJP handles Canada checkout, U.S. inquiry orders, delivery estimates, duties, taxes, handling fees, and import-related charges before you order.
Canada checkout is available now. U.S. orders are currently handled by inquiry only because shipping, prepaid import charges, and final shipment details must be confirmed before dispatch.
If you are located in the United States, please request a U.S. order quote before ordering. Product payment is collected first. Final international shipping and prepaid U.S. import charges are billed before shipment.
Where we currently ship.
DBJP currently supports Canada checkout. U.S. orders are handled manually by inquiry so shipping and prepaid import charges can be confirmed before dispatch.
Canada Orders
Canada checkout is currently available on the website. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on destination, package weight, and available shipping settings.
Duties, taxes, customs fees, Canada Post handling fees, or other import-related charges may be collected upon delivery or during customs clearance.
United States Orders
U.S. checkout is not currently available. U.S. customers should request a quote through the U.S. Orders page before ordering.
U.S. orders require individual confirmation because shipping method, package weight, prepaid import charges, and final shipment details must be confirmed before dispatch.
Product payment is collected first. Final shipping, prepaid U.S. import charges, and applicable processing costs are billed before shipment.

DBJP sources many items from suppliers in Japan after an order is placed. Delivery estimates include both sourcing time in Japan and international shipping time.
Standard Estimate
Canada orders usually take around 21–28 business days after payment confirmation.
This includes sourcing the item in Japan and standard international shipment from Japan to Canada.
Inquiry Orders
U.S. inquiry orders are also expected to take around 21–28 business days after the product invoice is paid, assuming the final shipping and import balance is paid promptly.
Additional time may be needed to confirm prepaid import charges and final shipment details.
EMS by Request
Faster shipping may be available by request using EMS or another available expedited method.
Expedited orders may take around 14–21 business days, but additional shipping charges will apply.
Import-related charges may apply.
International orders may be subject to duties, taxes, customs fees, import charges, postal handling fees, carrier fees, or other import-related costs. The examples below are for illustration only.
Example: CAD 100 item shipped to Canada
Canada import charges may include GST/HST, duty if applicable, and Canada Post handling fees.
| Product value example | CAD 100.00 |
|---|---|
| GST example: 5% | CAD 5.00 |
| Canada Post handling fee | CAD 9.95 |
| Example duty | Varies |
Actual charges depend on the product type, country of origin, customs classification, province, and final customs assessment.
Example: CAD 100 item shipped to the U.S.
U.S. inquiry orders use a product payment first, followed by a final balance for shipping and prepaid import charges before shipment.
| Product value example | CAD 100.00 |
|---|---|
| Prepaid U.S. import charge example: 10% | CAD 10.00 |
| Zonos / processing estimate | Confirmed later |
| International shipping | Confirmed later |
U.S. examples are estimates only. DBJP confirms the final balance after the item arrives in Japan and before dispatch.
U.S. orders use two payment steps.
This helps DBJP confirm the actual item, package weight, shipping cost, and prepaid import charges before shipment.
- Product cost
- Embroidery or customization, if applicable
- Any confirmed product-related charges
- International shipping
- Prepaid U.S. import charges
- Zonos / processing costs, if applicable
Your U.S. order will not ship until the final balance is paid. Before the first payment, DBJP will provide an estimated range for final shipping and prepaid import charges whenever possible.
How U.S. orders are handled.
Because U.S. shipping may require duty prepayment and final package confirmation, U.S. orders are reviewed individually.
Send a U.S. order request
Send the product link, size, color, quantity, embroidery request if any, and your shipping ZIP code and state.
DBJP confirms availability and the estimated final balance
DBJP checks product availability and provides the first product invoice. When possible, we also provide an estimated range for final shipping and prepaid U.S. import charges.
You pay the product invoice
After the product invoice is paid, DBJP sources the item in Japan. Shipping and prepaid import charges are not charged at this first payment stage.
DBJP confirms the final balance
After the item arrives in Japan, DBJP confirms the actual product details, package weight, shipping method, and prepaid U.S. import charges.
You pay the final balance, and DBJP ships
Once the final balance is paid, DBJP prepares the shipment, completes the required prepaid duty process, and ships the order from Japan.
Ordering from the United States?
U.S. orders are currently handled by inquiry only. Product payment is collected first. Final international shipping and prepaid U.S. import charges are billed before shipment.
Please use the U.S. Orders page and include the product link, preferred size and color, quantity, embroidery request if any, and your shipping ZIP code and state.
Submitting a U.S. order request does not require you to purchase.
Please review these points carefully.
Use a complete address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Incorrect or incomplete address information may cause delays, returns, or additional shipping charges.
Customization may add time
Embroidered, customized, special-order, or sourced-on-request items may require additional processing time and may have stricter cancellation limits.
Delivery dates are estimates
Sourcing time, customs processing, postal conditions, weather, holidays, carrier delays, and import inspections may affect delivery timing.
