Japanese Batting Gloves Size Guide

Batting Glove Size Guide

Find Your Best Fit Before Ordering

Japanese batting gloves are known for a snug, second-skin fit. Use this guide to measure your hand and choose the size that gives you the best balance of feel, grip, and comfort before ordering online.

The Japanese Fit

Japanese batting gloves are usually designed to fit snugly. This helps maximize feel, bat control, and grip security. If you are between sizes or prefer a more traditional North American looser fit, we generally recommend sizing up.

How to Measure

Measure your hand in two ways.

For the best fit, use palm circumference as your primary measurement and hand length as a secondary reference.

Primary Method

Method A: Palm Circumference

This is the standard measurement for Japanese batting glove sizing. It helps estimate how securely the glove will fit around your palm.

  • Wrap a soft measuring tape around your hand.
  • Start at the first joint of the index finger, around the knuckle area.
  • Pass the tape under the base of the thumb and around the palm toward the pinky side.

Method B: Hand Length

Use this as a secondary check to make sure the glove fingers are likely to fit comfortably.

  • Measure in a straight vertical line.
  • Start from the first crease at your wrist.
  • Measure to the tip of your middle finger.

Fit Guidance for Online Orders

How to choose your size without trying it on.

Since you are ordering online, use your measurements first and choose the fit style that matches your preference.

Expect a Snug Japanese Fit

Japanese batting gloves are often designed to feel snug at first. The material may soften slightly with use, so a close fit can become more comfortable over time.

Prioritize Palm Circumference

Use palm circumference as your primary measurement. Hand length is helpful as a reference, but grip security usually depends more on how the glove fits around your palm.

When Between Sizes

If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller size for a tighter, more secure batting feel. Choose the larger size only if you prefer a looser North American-style fit or have longer fingers.
